strep throat strikes.

Camden has been fighting a cold for a few weeks...the rest of us were doing ok. I took him in to see his peds doc last week, and they said to just keep an eye on him and if it didn't clear up in a week to just give them a call. Well Thursday morning at about 3 am, I woke up feeling like someone was stabbing me in the throat. I didn't go back to sleep, ugh, went to work for a few hours and then decided I just couldn't hack it anymore. Off I went to the 10 minute clinic, rather than trying to get in at my regular doc. Yep, I had strep. Great.

Meanwhile, Cam wasn't getting a whole lot better, but when I called in, our peds doc was out for a family emergency and wouldn't/won't be back for a few weeks. Translation, tough $%#@ you have to bring him back in. Made an appt for this last Wednesday to see the fill in doctor, who by they way, is amazing.

Wednesday morning goes as follows:
get kids up.
take Cadynce to Tina's.
take Cam to the doc.
Colby meets us there and tries to get him to eat a banana while we wait (low blood sugar issue)for our appt.
Cam barfs in Colby's hand. (thank God it wasn't mine!)
See the Doc.
She wants to know about the low blood sugar, hear about the blister on his finger (whole other story for a different time) his cold, fever, and everything else.
Surprise Surprise - Cam has Strep, and a ruptured eardrum.

Poor baby! Thankfully, already today he is doing better. He's eating and drinking more normally; which relieves me from worrying so much about the blood sugar. He's been running around off and on and yelling at Nemo on t.v. so he must be feeling a lot better. Plus, he could actually breath through his nose part of the night last night so that was good too.

Cadynce has been coughing the last couple days as well, but no sore throat there yet. Cross your fingers she doesn't get it! She did however, wake up coughing last night and when Colby went in to check on her he was asking if her throat hurt or anything and she informed him, "nothing hurts, but this nostril (pointing to her nose) can breath and THIS nostril can not!"

only out of the mouths of babes!
