Catching Up.

Remember this? So, you all know we were having a rough pre-Christmas time. I hate to say it, but that was just the beginning.

On Christmas Eve, we were celebrating with the Knudson family, and Mike's mom hadn't been feeling well. In the midst of Christmas gift opening we ended up having to call the aid car for Grandma Evelyn; she was transported to Everett, never coming home. Grandma had a blood clot in her lungs and didn't make it to the hospital. We spent our Christmas Eve in a daze at the Colby Campus. The evening had some weird things to it.

-Grandma had told more than one person she wouldn't live into the next year.

-On our way home with the kids, before Colby headed down to the hospital, Cadynce said, "Daddy, I hope you get there in time." When we asked why, she said she didn't know.

-My friend Sarah just happened to be working admitting that night. So we at least had a familiar face while we were sitting there waiting.

Anyways, it was just weird, sad, and totally unexpected. I did go to the hospital to be with the family after Sissybugg (cousin Kayci) came down to stay at our house and wrap Santa presents for me.

The kids kept us all busy and were a joy in our lives at such a hard time.

The days to follow were hard; Grandma didn't want any services, Grandpa was sad and at times very confused . . . the kids and grand kids are all taking shifts staying the night at Grandpa's house because he can't be left alone.

I posted about Relay for Life here the day before my birthday. And the post before I talked about my failures last year and my goals for this year. Well, Saturday of Relay for Life kick off (also the Saturday before my b-day) my car didn't start. And it's still not running. The gym membership has been put on the wayyy back burner, as with the paying off of said bills, until we can find out for sure if the car is fixable, or if we're going to have to bite the bullet and have a car payment again.

How is your New Year so far?

Please consider making a donation to help us find a world with no cancer. Here is the link to my personal page where you can make a donation, remember that every penny counts.
