Sunshine!

Camden is finally starting to have a better time of being 1, a little bit anyways. He's not quite so cranky anymore although he is fighting off his sister's cold ( me too.)
Cadynce has some major attitude.. hopefully the sun being out and getting to burn off some energy OUTSIDE will help.
Today I got new running shoes and laid in the sunshine on the back porch while my kids were napping. Having to do so without getting any tan lines due to a fantastic dress I will be wearing in the end of August at Kelly and Travis's wedding. Lord knows, if I get them now I'll never get rid of them before I have to wear the strapless little number.
Later this afternoon, the kids, Rhonda and myself are headed to Stanwood to enjoy a baseball game. Go Spartans! Go Daddy! :) Today is a good day.
Oh, and Colby mowed the lawn. Hallelujah!

She Slams Doors

She says "no way Jose" and she screams "I told you to go away." She likes to have her toes painted, her hair in a pony tail or braids, but heaven forbid you should brush it and "hurt her hair" and she likes to play in the dirt. She loves to wear jammies all day, sweatpants just like mom, and a dress like sissy bug. She's got enough attitude to fill a hot hair balloon that will cruise around the world and back again.

In a flash her horns have come out and she has done something mean, she's sent to her room and she slams the door.

She's quick to say she's sorry when she knows she has really done something wrong. She gives the best hugs and cuddles; she's mine through and through.

I'm hoping she's getting all the tude out now so there won't be any left when she's 16. I have this feeling she's exactly like me.

Being 1 is the pits...at least so far.

My poor Cam, he really just hasn't had an easy go of being one and it's only been 4 days. To start things off for the week coming up to his birthday the little guy has had been doing a lot of pooping. And I mean A LOT! So his butt is red and has an awful bad rash. Finally we started using monistat on it and it's helping quite a bit. Yup, that was pretty funny all in itself, I called Colby and told him he needed to go pick that up. HA! So, good guy that he is, heads to Haggens while I'm at work; pretty soon he calls, "there are so many choices, which one do I get?" I had no clue. "fine, I guess I'll ask the pharmacist." Again, what a man. Anyhoo, he asked the pharmacist and she/he (i dunno) showed him what to get, and also informed him that the stuff for athletes foot is the same so he could get that, it's a lot cheaper. Hell no he says....what if it makes his balls swell up or something?! LOL! Only a man would think like that. He did read the back of the packages and they did have the same ingredients, but he still didn't like the idea of putting something on Camdens butt that was for feet. The actual day of Cam's birthday went fine; he's been really cranky all week. Friday morning, I was making a cake for Kelan's birthday. A really cool racetrack cake (pics to come soon) and that was tough to do with him being so cranky. Lacey came to pick up the cake and when we were out putting it in her car, Cam fell against the screen door and put 2 teeth through his bottom lip. OOh yeah, lots of bleeding and crying. Lacey was a great nurse though, she works at the dentist so she checked his teeth and called her dentist to see what he said. Basically, no acidic foods and as long as the bleeding stops we are fine. Gave him so Motrin and shortly after he was good to go. Such a tough guy! You think it ends here, not a chance. Saturday morning he woke up very cranky and wouldn't sleep around 4. I picked him up and he was on FIRE! Had a temp of 102, so Motrin again...the fever stayed up almost all day. Seriously? Seriously. He was cranky all day yesterday with the fever and not feeling so hot. Took him to the walk in and the didn't say anything really. Except they want a stool sample...laugh all you want. I didn't know weather to laugh or cry. Not looking forward to that. Thankfully he slept pretty good last night and has only had a real low grade fever at one point this morning. He seems to be in a better mood, but has a bit of a cold, and is drooling a lot. My mommy senses told me it was teething to begin with, so we will see if at least 8 teeth pop thru for all the trouble it's been. Happy Easter right!? We are celebrating Easter and his birthday with Colby's family tonight....hope the little guy can hang tough through that too.

First 1st Birthday (part 2)

Well, Camden's first 1st birthday party was a success. We were so lucky that the weather help up and we were able to bbq without rain. In fact, it was sunny and almost warm, so all the kids played outside for hours. We are so lucky to have such great friends and we had a wonderful time. Here are some pics:Camden opening presents. He liked the wrapping paper and bows a lot. Tiffany and baby Ava

When you're least expecting it...

The game was a great game, Stanwood won, 1-0. It was sunny, and I have a million freckles on my face, we got out of the house and it felt good. Rhonda went with us; which was an extra special treat for us because there aren't many days when Rhonda feels up to being out and about anymore. Thank goodness she came because she took Cadynce on 2 potty runs during the game which would have been pretty difficult with Camden in tow. First one, she had to go potty; not long later, she says, "nana, I need to go potty again." Nana knows Cadynce pretty well, "Do you really need to go potty or do you want to play on the stairs?" Cadynce says, " NO, nana, REALLY I need to go poop." Off they went. :)
For some reason Camden has been sort of standoffish towards Rhonda lately; he is having some separation anxiety...and she never has really been able to get down and play with him too much so I think all those things factored together makes him a little leery. Regardless, we had a good time and when we got home it was nap time. After changing a diaper and Rhonda getting Cadynce ready for a nap, I was loading Rhonda's blanket and chair back into her Durango; it was so cute to come in and see Rhonda rocking Cam in the rocking chair. Of course I ruined that simply by walking in, but it was precious even if only for a few minutes. I put Camden down for his nap and Rhonda switched kids, she held and rocked Cadynce for a few minutes. Between Cadynce growing and Rhonda losing so much weight, Cadynce looked huge sitting on her lap rocking away. It was picture perfect the 2 of them sitting there enjoying each other, Cadynce's eyes half closed and Rhonda's head resting on hers. It's moments like these that sneak up on me and get to me when I least expect it. As much as I want her to be here forever she isn't going to be. Rhonda was so content to sit and rock my girl, something I take for granted every single day.

Swing Batter Batter, Swing.

Baseball season is upon us and in full swing! (no pun intended) Which means we see even less of Colby; he coaches the J.V. baseball team at Stanwood High School. This is something he loves...and we love it too, mostly. However by the end of August we are so done. Yes, August I said, that is because he also helps with Legion (summer) baseball. We are 2 weeks into games and they have only actually played 2, on account of all this lovely weather we have been experiencing here in the lovely northwest. Today is a nice day so far, a bit on the chilly side, but they are scheduled to have a game and we are going to brave it. I'll let you all know how it goes... BB (before babies) I used to go to every single game, it didn't matter where or what the weather was like. Now, AB (after babies) we don't make it to a whole lot of games, let alone through an entire game. I guess that's not entirely true, Cadynce spent all of her newborn days and early months at baseball games and a lot of time there before Camden too. With 2 it's just a lot more work. Ugh....it's going to get easier though right?!
So today, we are going to try and get out of the house and enjoy some baseball; we all need a break from being cooped up inside. When we get home it's back to getting ready for Camden's birthday party tomorrow!
